By working to defeat Proposition 1E in the May 19 Special Election, SEIU 721 members helped prevent more than $460 million in cuts to vital mental health services—and protect the successful Mental Health Services Act approved by California voters five years ago.

SEIU 721 members joined with clients, families, workers, advocates, and community leaders in the effort to defeat Prop 1E, including phone calls to thousands of SEIU members, participation in the May 13 rally in downtown Los Angeles, and outreach to members at worksites and on the internet.

Now that we defeated Prop 1E, let's keep working together to transform mental health services. Be sure to take five minutes to fill out the LA County Mental Health Transformation and Contract Survey. Look for it at your worksite or find it online.
